Read the right line of the notification

Most notifications state the age limit as on a specific date, not on the day you apply. Calculate your age on that date.

Age relaxation

Typical relaxations are +3 years for OBC, +5 for SC/ST and +10 for PwBD in the general category (more for PwBD in reserved categories). Ex-servicemen and departmental candidates have separate rules. EWS candidates usually get no age relaxation.

Qualification

Check whether final-year students may apply and by which date the degree must be completed.

State and domicile

Some posts are open only to residents of a state or require a local-language test.
